Artecel Cell Banking of ASCs
Cell banking is an emerging treatment strategy premised on the ready availability of an individual’s viable, multi-lineage, autologous cells for the repair of diseased or injured tissues. Some parents are already storing cord blood cells from their newborns as a future tissue regeneration option. In adults the donation of tissue to extract multi-potential cells must be as simple, safe and inexpensive as possible. Reserves of fat comprise an acceptable source of such cells. The resulting stem cells are easily cryopreserved, may be kept frozen for years and are capable of rapid thawing and administration when needed.

Artecel Therapeutic Products
Artecel’s first generation ASC products are autologous (i.e., made from an individual patient’s own cells, with minimal manipulation). Artecel’s second generation products are allogeneic (i.e., made with cells obtained from a donor, grown to large numbers in cell culture and stored in inventory, and delivered to other patients).

Thus, Artecel’s strategy of starting with autologous products offers a faster and simpler path to market. In the longer term, allogeneic ASCs may offer substantial cost-savings to patients and payors, as well as off-the-shelf availability for patients needing more immediate treatment. Thus, Artecel’s strategy of following with allogeneic products offers maximum competitive strength and maximum market growth potential.
